MISSION START!

Its time for some action - but first, the most important thing: how do you turn them on? Find your key (one in every box) which is attached to a lanyard.

Next, turn the gaming guns & boxes on by turning the key switch ¼ clockwise. To turn them off, simply turn the switch back counter clockwise. Remember to remove the key before issuing the gaming gun.

Inside this guide you will find info about:
- the gaming guns
- setting up missions
- reading your post-game statistics
- how to use your controller
- troubleshooting

MISSION GUIDES

GAMING GUNS - ANATOMY

Every gamer has a gaming gun. All gaming guns have three sensors where a gamer can be shot. There are two mounted on the headband, and another built into the gun.

To shoot: aim through the scope, hover the red dot (an optical illusion inside the scope) over an opponent's sensor, then pull the trigger.

When you hit an opponent your gaming gun will say “Hit”, “Wound” or “Critical” or "Ricochet".
“Hit” = that target is still above half health.
“Wound” = the target is below half health.
“Critical” = double damage.
"Ricochet" = damage was done to the opponent's shield
When you are hit, your gaming gun will make different sound effects
A grunt noise indicates you have been "hit"
A scream noise indicates you have been "killed"
If your gaming gun says "you're dead" on trigger pull, depending on the mission, head back to your medic box (see Team Death Match & Capture the Flag)

Mobirise

When you first open your pack, the gaming guns will be set to a particular team. The gaming guns with a red headband are set to the Red Team, and so on. To either side of your trigger are two small buttons: one red, one black. The red button is your reload button. The black one is called the "mode" button.

RELOADING

In this game you have limited ammunition (ammo). The starting weapon has 30 ammo points in each magazine. You have three spare magazines (a total of 120 ammo points). Depending on the missions, gamers can collect more ammo. When you respawn you receive all your ammo back.

The gaming guns automatically reload when you finish a magazine but you can reload at anytime. To reload click the red button, do not hold it down. Wait 3-5 seconds, and your gaming gun will be reloaded. If you reload with ammo still in your magazine it returns to your ammunition pool. You can see all your ammo by holding down both the reload and mode buttons.

MODE BUTTON

If you have two or more weapons (having collected one from the supply crate) you can choose to scroll through to this with your mode botton. This is black.

The system automatically gives you your best weapon.

MASTER CONTROLLER

The Controller helps you run the games. It looks like a gaming gun but yellow. Options with (RF) effect all devices nearby. Options that do not have this are either set-up menus or shoot-to-set.

The Controller will give you an audio description of each option when you go to that screen. Scrolling through the menus is as easy as pressing the red/black button on the device. When you have selected the option you want just pull the trigger.

POST GAME STATS

At the end of each mission, the display on the gaming guns change.
There are two different screens: "Battle" and "Session". The battle is about the most recent mission played, while the session refers to the entire session (since it was last switched on).

WHAT EVERYTHING MEANS

H = the hits you made over the course of the mission
K = kill shots made
A = Accuracy percentage
A/W = Assist to Wound ratio
K/W = Kill to Death ration
S = how many times you spawned over the course of the mission

SPARE GAMING GUN

In every pack there is at least one spare gaming gun. It is usually green. If not, you can tell its the spare because when you turn it on it says spare device on the screen.

This works similarly to the battle boxes - and can replace any battle box that isn't working as well as any broken gaming guns. Go through the menus to select the device you wish to replace.

TROUBLESHOOTING

BATTERIES AND CHARGING

Each gaming gun & box has 16 hours of battery life. So if you turn them off (with the key) when not using them they should last the length of your hire. If one does run out of battery, we include a charger. It looks like a phone charger and plugs into the side of the gaming gun or box.

Please note that this is just designed for a top‐up. So to re‐charge from fully flat takes around 3 hours. DO NOT leave the units on charging for more than 3 hours. Usually a quick re‐charge of 15‐30min is enough to get going again.

Make sure the gaming guns are turned OFF when charging.

How to tell if the gaming gun is flat?

The first thing to happen will be that the screen starts to fade. The gaming gun will continue to work for a while after this, but it is best to put it on charge if you see this.

GAMING GUNS NOT SHOOTING EACH OTHER

The most common issue is the team setting. Look at the display on each gaming gun. In the bottom left hand corner there is a letter either A / B / X. The A stands for Red Team, the B for Blue. Gaming guns on the same team will not shoot each other.

You will need to set all gaming guns back to their appropriate teams with the master controller. Make sure only those gaming guns you want to set are turned on. All others should be OFF (with the key).

USEFUL TIPS

WHERE TO PLAY

Battlefield is Awesome! However, one key factor will be the battlefield (right?). Building a great field with barricades or playing in an area with a lot of trees will enhance the gaming experience. A good rule of thumb is the no. of gamers = the minimum no. of hiding spots. Of course, the more there is the better!

Battlefield LIVE can be played in all kinds of places, with all kinds of fields. Battle over haybails, in local parks, or in your own backyard!

CHANGE THE FIELD

We recommend moving the starting position for each time every game. The first and best option is to swap sides every game.

After you have played a couple rounds, you can either change the game, or if the gamers are loving the current mission - play cross ways. This means if the medic boxes were placed on the length / long side of the field, you can move the boxes so the medic boxes are placed on the width / short side.
